LOCAL SPORTS

TAMU

  • 🏈 Aggie Football: No. 3 Texas A&M closed its home schedule with a 48‑0 win over FCS opponent Samford. The Aggies scored 28 points in the first 18 minutes, benched many starters early and did not allow the Bulldogs to reach the end zone. The Aggies take on T.U Friday night; if the Aggies win they guarantee themselves a spot in the SEC Championship game.

  • 🏀 Men’s Basketball: The Aggie men beat Manhattan 109-68. Guard Rubén Dominguez set a new school record for three-pointers made in a single game (10) and scored 30 points in the game.

  • 🏀 Women’s Basketball: At the North Shore Showcase in Laie, Hawai‘i, Texas A&M defeated VCU 78‑66. The win improved A&M to 4‑0.

🏈 High School Playoff Roundup

  • A&M Consolidated: Port Arthur Memorial defeated A&M Consolidated 44–27, ending the Tigers’ playoff run. Memorial’s explosive ground game and several late scoring drives proved too much for Consol to overcome.

  • College Station: College Station rolled past Beaumont United 51–7, extending its playoff streak behind a dominant rushing attack, multiple touchdown receptions, and a defense that forced turnovers throughout the night.

  • Franklin: Franklin outpaced Orangefield 56–34 in an offensive shootout, leaning on its powerful run game and big-play bursts to secure another convincing postseason victory.
