Food for Families Drive Raises Over $246,000 and 145,000 lbs of Food
Final totals for the 30th annual "Food for Families" food drive were announced this Tuesday, revealing a massive outpouring of support from the Brazos Valley. Organizers reported that across the six participating counties (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Robertson, and Washington), the community donated a total of $246,157 and 145,774 pounds of food to help stock local pantries for the holiday season. The drive, championed by KBTX and local partners, remains the largest single-day food drive in the region.

Downtown Bryan Holiday Stroll & Lighted Parade: This annual tradition transforms downtown into a festive hub with holiday floats, fire engines, and businesses staying open late for shoppers. The "Lighted Parade" specifically begins at 7:00 PM, illuminating the streets with creative holiday displays.
Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Location: Historic Downtown Bryan.
Friday, December 12
Christmas in the Park: Movie Night: Gather the family on the lawn at City Hall for a free screening of the holiday classic A Christmas Story. Festivities begin at 6:00 PM with photos with Santa, games, and hot cocoa, followed by the movie at 7:15 PM.
Time: 6:00 PM (Movie at 7:15 PM).
Location: College Station City Hall.
Sunday, December 14
AIA Brazos Gingerbread Build-Off: Watch local teams of architects and engineers compete to construct elaborate gingerbread structures on The Green. The public is invited to view the creations and vote for their favorite in the "People’s Choice" award category.
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

🏈Texas A&M Football: Playoff Set for Kyle Field The Aggies have officially secured the No. 7 seed in the College Football Playoff and will host the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes in the first round. The game is set for Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11:00 AM at Kyle Field. Ticket sales for the general public open this Friday, Dec. 12.
🏀Texas A&M Basketball
Women's Basketball: The team returns from finals break to host West Virginia this Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2:00 PM at Reed Arena.
Men's Basketball: Coming off a tough overtime loss to SMU, the men's team looks to bounce back against Jacksonville this Sunday, Dec. 14, at 6:00 PM at Reed Arena.
High School Basketball Tournaments Local high school basketball is in full swing with tournament play this weekend (Dec. 11-13).
A&M Consolidated Boys Varsity travels to Pflugerville for the PFISD Tournament.
College Station High Boys Varsity heads north for the C.W. Jackson Lions Club Invitational in Cedar Hill.
